One Step At A Time

Going into the acute unit to deliver a workshop is a priviledge. People allowing me into their lives when they are at their most vulnerable is something I never take for granted. I don’t know peoples stories and I don’t need to know as we are there in that moment, in that space just as human beings to connect with one another and to discuss a topic that can be difficult when you are uncertain of how things will look for you going forward. But it is in these spaces and moments that people can feel listened to, feel heard and feel they have a voice to discover their strengths, their passions and at times their needs. If a person can take away one strength or identify one positive thing in their lives it is a good start. We always say start with small steps, small moments. Recovery is not a race, it is something we do one step at a time.
