Wellness Café Event for First Fortnight

The Peer-Led Wellness café in Glór, Ennis hosted the first event of 2025 on Monday January 13th, an open coffee morning as part of First Fortnight Festival January 2025.

First Fortnight is a charity which tackles mental health stigma through arts and cultural action. The theme of the event was “What is a Wellness Café?” and offered a chance for peers and newcomers including staff of services and organisations to meet together, hear from the development group about their experience and the benefits of attending a Wellness cafes, along with a poem and song. Thank you to the host venue Glór café and First Fortnight for sponsoring teas/coffees for the event and our partners in the Donegal Wellness cafes.

“There are some talented and creative people involved each week in the Wellness Café, and the background support of local organisations and mental health services has helped to make the drop-in café and safe and supportive space. I spoke about CHIME in mental health recovery and the Wellness café brings Connectedness on a Monday that is so important and lifts your week”. Rosemary Ryan, Lead Mental Health Engagement
